We specify a variety of products in our custom engineered systems. However, some items are utilized frequently enough that they have become “off-the-shelf” items. Here are some examples:

racing pressure sensor with AN -3 AN-3 connection
We supply high-quality pressure sensors with your choice of features. We prefer the AN-3 connection: leak proof and no tapes or pastes to contaminate the system. Also, we usually specify the Packard Metri-Pack electrical connection. If you try them we suspect you will become hooked on these well thought out sensors. For example, the electrical connector is offset for easier access to the locking tab. We import these from the European manufacturer and competitively price them starting at $195 each. For more details see the pressure sensor page.

AN -3 AN-3 Goodridge fittings
We supply a variety of AN-3 fittings to ease sensor installation. Here are the parts for a remote plumbing of an oil pressure sensor on a GM LS engine. For a few more ideas see the pressure sensing page.

linear potentiometers or damper position sensors by Penny and Giles P&G
We supply linear position sensors in your choice of length, connector and mounting. We prefer the Penny and Giles sensors. For sizing information see our linear sensor page.

We custom fit switches to steering wheels. In this case we used a Lemo connector inside the steering hub and our standard switch plate. Our plates fit Nardi, Momo, Personal and most other 3 or 6 bolt steering wheels.

With infrared temperature sensors you can start to understand why the tires gain or lose grip as the race progesses or sort out the balance between brake ducting and rotor mass. IR sensors are available with a variety of mounting styles and connectors starting at $188 for tires and $540 for brakes.

Caught in the process of assembly, this Auto-Sport connector gives an idea of some of the detail work that goes into our harnesses. You can see that each wire was cut and coiled so that the finished product would be at the correct angle for the installation.

The main reason that we specify Motec data and engine management systems is due to their configurability. Got a challenge? Give us a call. For the latest product and pricing information download the catalog from motec.com.

Part of our Motec line is this version of the easy to use GT101 speed sensor.

This mil-spec, push button is the best we have found. It features an aluminum housing, a snap action with excellent feel, comes in a variety of colors and is water-tite. And, best of all, it is reasonably priced.

We use these aircraft quality breakers to protect our systems during overloads. When they trip they expose a white band on the base of the popped out button. Manually pulling out the button shuts off the circuit.

motec by Electron Speed
We supply and support the entire line of Motec products. Based on our experience and research, Motec provides an excellent balance between support, power, flexibility, ease of use and cost. Sure they can be beaten on a few features, but when it comes to putting together the whole package, Motec is hard to beat. Download their latest catalog from their website at motec.com.

Bosch by Electron SpeedLife Racing by Electron Speed
We have worked with both the Bosch and Life Racing systems since 2005. They each have some impressive features and we would welcome a project that really tests these products. Diesel anyone?
